What is the installation method for Z-shaped steel purlins

Apr 20, 2024

The installation method of Z-shaped steel purlins usually includes the following steps:
Preparation work: Firstly, confirm the size and quantity of the purlins, as well as determine the installation position and spacing of the purlins.
Positioning: Use a level and plumb to determine the accurate position of the purlin, and secure it with wood or other supports. Ensure that the position of the purlins is accurate and error free.
Purlin support positioning and installation: Determine the intersection line between the purlin and the steel structure beam based on the distance and axis of the purlin, which is the installation line of the purlin support plate. Then, weld the purlin bracket onto the steel structure beam and support, ensuring that its angle with the flange plane of the steel beam is 90 ° ± 1 °, and the position deviation is within 5mm.
Punching and fixing: Use electric drills and hole drills to make positioning holes at both ends and in the middle of the purlin. Then, align the purlin with the positioning hole and use a screwdriver to lock the fixing screw. Ensure that the screws are securely fastened to avoid loosening.
Correction: Check whether the installed purlins are horizontal and vertical. If there is any tilting phenomenon, adjust the position of the purlins in a timely manner.
Anti corrosion treatment: For the welded parts, anti-corrosion treatment should be carried out on the weld seam and its surroundings after welding. Anti corrosion materials should be selected with paint coatings that meet the design requirements, and two coats are required to be applied.
In addition, if Z-shaped steel purlins need to be spliced, attention should be paid to possible misalignment during splicing, as well as the overlapping method between small and large surfaces. When necessary, adjustments can be made according to the specific installation environment and requirements.
